Counseling for Kids & Students

Ages 12 - 17

When you’re dealing with new emotions, situations, and relationships all at once, it can be easy to feel overwhelmed. Kids and students are likely to be facing big challenges like understanding themselves, finding community, and learning who to trust.

Working with a counselor can help them navigate big challenges in a healthy way, and give them support when they need it most.

If you’re a parent - helping your kids find firm foundations during this time can be especially challenging.

Navigating relationships is difficult at any age. If you’re a parent feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or frustrated - you’re not alone. You want your kids to succeed and thrive - but the pathway isn’t always clear. Often complicated emotions and problems get in the way.

Rally Point Counselors can help open up the lines of communication, address problems, and provide resources that help you and your kids have meaningful, healthy relationships.

Common Questions Parents Ask:

  • Generally, Rally Point therapists specialize in providing care to children 10 years or older, however, some specific therapists on our staff are equipped to work with clients of younger ages. If your child is under 10, we encourage you to reach out to our team with your specific situation prior to booking an initial session. (Click here)

For clients who are turning 18 shortly, our team will help you fill out paperwork specific to your family situation so that therapy can continue once your child turns 18.

  • As a parent, understanding the best way to set your child up for therapy can be complicated.

Depending on your child's age and situation, it can be helpful to start therapy by meeting with a therapist privately, meeting together with your child, or allowing your child to meet with a therapist first.

When you setup an Intake Session, you’ll be given the option of attending with your child, or allowing your child to meet with a therapist alone. Regardless of what you select, our team will work with you to determine the best recommendation for ongoing therapy based on your child's situation.

  • No problem. In situations where custody or family dynamics are a factor - our intake team will work with you to determine the best way to begin therapy.

In situations like this, our intake team often requests to meet with a parent ahead of time to help them understand how consent works, and determine the best ongoing solution for care.

Help your kids find identity, acceptance, and community.
